Vacation As Service | "Tipsy Tow"

Five Years Ago Amir Iravani, member of Escondido East Rotary Club and owner/president of a local towing and road services company in Escondido, started a "Tipsy Tow" program, all out of his own pocket. The estimated cost to date is $60,000. Any individual who has had one too many drinks to safety drive home and is in one of five north county covered cities, can call Amir's company, NK Towing, for a free ride home. The vehicle is towed home for free as well. Amir and his company received a proclamation from the City of Escondido last month in honor of the 5th anniversary of this program. The proclamation notes the potential numbers of lives saved by keeping drunk drivers off road, including those who made use of his service... left self.

" On June 22nd 2011 NK Towing was signed onto 2011 Police Tow Services Contracts for the City of Escondido. Amir Iravani's Statement to Escondido City Council was,

"Mayor Abed, Members of the Escondido City Council, and City Staff:

My Name is Amir Iravani. I am the owner of NK Towing & Roadside Service Incorporated, headquartered on Don Lee Place in Escondido. On behalf of our 50 employees, many of whom live in Escondido, I want to offer my sincere appreciation for our inclusion in rotation to provide tow services for the City of Escondido's Police Department for the next three year. From its start in 2004, NK Towing has been dedicated to providing the highest level of professional service to each city as we have given to the County and to the Southern California Auto Club. Thank you for your vote of confidence. Our goal is to meet and exceed all expectations.""
